Half Full or Half Empty?

So if one of your now-adult former students invites you to join her to see a movie called "BAD TEACHER," would your self esteem get a boost or take a nose-dive?

Discuss.

Boost!! Because what how many former students invite their former teachers to hang out with them in public? (Albeit somewhat dark/anonymous public, but still public!!)

Oh, I totally think that would be a BOOST. Just the fact that a former student thought I was cool enough to been seen out in public with would be a great confidence lifter for me.
But then again, my self esteem is usually in the toilet.

I have no idea!! I would think he/she was joking and just laughed it off... Was your student joking or serious?

Not a concern because it's not about you. However...should you be concerned about being embarrassed by the content (which I hear is funny, but very very R)?

Saw this movie Saturday night. Do not--I repeat--do not waste your time or money on it. Cameron Diaz is cute and classy looking as ever. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The filth that spews from her mouth is unbelievable. Not just the words, but everything. While it has its funny moments, they are few and far between and not worth the rest of the film.

Well-- I missed the movie b/c I got stuck in traffic! My student assures me the movie selection was NOT a reflection on my teaching skills! :)

If it were my student, I'd vote for empty, but for you? Full.

BOOST! She has to think you are really cool to want to go to a movie with you at all, or even keep in touch with you.

okay, well, um... speaking completely from my own perspective, I'd say it's a non-starter because I'd be creeped out if any of my former students wanted to hang out with me. I'd be like, I'm OLD! Find someone YOUNG and VIBRANT to hang out with! Now I gotta go take some Geritol.

Hopefully we can all not take ourselves so seriously that if the movie were funny, we'd laugh regardless... ~Best Regards From Seattle~
