Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for YOU!

I am over on Modern Loss today writing about our first Thanksgiving without Jack, which I was not able to write about until now. For those of you experiencing a similar first today, you are in my heart.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Anna. My name is Lindsay and I live in Carroll, Iowa. I finished Rare Bird last night late and cried and cried. My heart is full today with the knowledge of blessings around me. Thinking about you and your family today!

We said a prayer for Jack at our Thanksgiving table. He is not forgotten Anna, Tim and Margaret. Your piece was beautifully written. My heart still is heavy for your loss.

Prayers and I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving surrounded by kind people and beautiful memories.

scented candles are not my favorite thing either and yet, good grief, I would be HAPPY, even insistent, to endure a miniscule (almost non-existent) amount of discomfort for such a worthy purpose -- no offense to your cousin, but I would have been pretty upset on your behalf if I had been there. ever listen to the (foul mouthed yet brilliant) Louis C.K.? he talks about how we're so spoiled in this society that we're not willing to accept even our SECOND favorite thing -- it has to be our MOST favorite thing. my most favorite candles are unscented ones, but you know what.... it's not going to kill me to smell a mildly unpleasant smell for an hour of my life. you have had to endure PROFOUND discomfort every moment of the day for years -- I think others can do a microscopic amount for mere moments. sheesh.

We brought up the Christmas tree over the weekend and I couldn't help but smile at the sight of the only decoration left on from last year....a blue ribbon right near the top. Love you guys. xoxo
