Quick Question

If you could choose, which of course you can't...

Would you rather have a kid who behaves perfectly at school, yet gives YOU a run for your money in the privacy of your own home...

OR

A kid who is relatively mild-mannered at home, but who gets in trouble at school. A lot?

Decisions, decisions. Well, I guess I couldn't make up my mind, so God gave me one of each.

Yay.

One of each works for me. Good balance. Older/younger correlation would be an interesting scientific study.

good at school/hell at home is what I prefer.

I can't find my blog said...

I have 2 of the first and prefer it that way. At least I have control of the consequenses.

i agree with the consensus--good at school/not so much at home. parents who claim "MY child would never do that" drive me nuts!

Our daughter has ALWAYS been an angel at daycare and now at school. And then she gets home and tests us ALL night long. Our daycare provider has always said that is the way it is supposed to be. I think she just said that so she wouldn't have to deal with her though! Ha! I guess it is probably better that way!

I have one who does both at seemingly random intervals.

Definitely the former. 'Cause I already know my kids can be stinkers. If I can keep their teachers fooled for a while, all the better.

Good at school, melt down at home for me. When teachers mention that our home must be so peaceful, I just laugh.

The mathematician in me has to point out that you did not describe all of the possibilities.
You left this one out: a kid that is a nightmare at home AND a troublemaker at school.

Whether they happen to be getting having a tough time at home or in school, I count my blessings every day that they manage to avoid this last category.

I am not sure how to respond as my children are perfectly behaved at all times.

right.

My three year old told us at dinner last night that "In two years Im goin' to kindergarten and I'm OUTTA HERE!"

I think she believes she is going to have her own car and dorm room. I'm doing some research to see if it's possible.

I think I'd prefer good at school because I'd be so worried about what the teachers would think.

God bless you - good luck with your one of each!!!

That's a tough one. But good luck...the school year just started.

I had the kid that was an angel at school and a little demon at home. Many mornings I would push her out the door to wait for the bus way earlier than it was due to arrive.

(This kid by the way is now 24 and a delight.....more than I could even dared prayed for.)

I now work as a kindergarten aide and I can honestly say we love them all...but those angels? Those angels make our days. Parents love their kid no matter what....others have to work at it.

I vote for this one.

Not that you can throw the other away...haha.

I totally have one of each too. When they're at school I prefer the first. When they're at home I prefer the second. I'm totally disloyal that way.

Hmmmmm----I think that I would rather have one that was perfect at home AND at school.....

Can't I have that choice?

It's good to know that there are more of us out there.

I'm a teacher, so I'd rather you have kids who are well-behaved at school, heehee! :)

I wonder why they *do* that?

I chose not to have kids, which I feel was an infinitely more sane choice to make---for me :))
