I don't know if you remember me but way back in our early blogging days you would always lift me up with your funny, kind, clever comments. I wish I could do the same for you, sweet gal.
I've been out of the blog reading loop for 2+ yrs now. I'm so very sorry....my heart crumbled as I read further back into your archives. I'm now a mother myself & i know how words sometimes just aren't enough.
My son, Vincent would have been nine on Saturday, March 22. He drowned in a swimming pool in July of 2010...at the home of a relative of a relative. It was the only time he had ever been there. Weird fluke. Weird fluke that upended our lives and changed us forever. I feel exactly as you do about this time of year. The last spring Vincent was with us, I was walking his brother and him to school. I said "Look guys, a robin. That's a sure sign of spring." Every time Vincent saw a robin after that, he said with such glee, "Look, mommy, a robin. That's a sure sign of spring, right, mommy?" On Saturday, we'll go to his resting place and release balloons. I'll be looking out for robins. Take joy in your beautiful son's legacy. Be gentle with yourself.

You have inspired me to at least try to put into words the loss of my son. I only recently tried and when it got to a certain point I stopped. You have encouraged me to try again. Thank you.
