May I Have a Spoon With that Sugar?

Last night in bed Tom felt something he hadn't felt in quite a while .

No, not thaaaaat.

He felt my leg thrown over him all cozy-like. Seems that when we went out of town for the weekend it was summer, but we came back to fall.

We are now in the week or weeks-long window in which it's actually colder inside the house than out and the furnace hasn't kicked in yet. Soooo, Tom gets a snuggle, which is a treat.

Because normally, I do not want any part of it.

Our queen size bed is not big enough for both of us, and if I think he's ooching over to my side, I'm not above (or below) giving a little kick to regain my territory. I have night sweats, my husband is more than a little bit hairy, and have I mentioned that I...

loathe

being

HOT?

I know, being married to me must be a real walk in the park.

But for now, until the house warms up, I'm all about the snuggle.

Who knows? Maybe I won't get out the down comforter this year.

  1. Too funny! Our house is the same way right now, but because we're STILL trying to 'sleep train' Cal, and Matt needs to be alert and thinking all day long, he's in the guest room while I'm upstairs with the kids. Fun? No? Snuggling? Me and the dog, baby...me and the dog!

  2. Similar here, except that it's still hot. Yuck. I hate being hot, too. I guess I don't live in the best place for that.

  4. At 4:30 this morning I woke up feeling like I was in a steam bath. Even though my hubby was way over on his side of the bed, I glared at him in the dark anyway.

I am READY for cold weather and chilly breezes coming through the open bedroom window.

  5. Same thing here. Toss in some snoring (his, not mine, I SWEAR - or so I choose to believe, thank you very much) and you'd have a typical fall night here right now!

  6. Ha! I like my space too. That's why we have a King size bed. It makes my life so much better.

  7. So funny ... and seriously, I'm the same way too. I like "visiting" but then I want to go back to our respective sides of the bed. No spooning ... and right now, no forking either. *wink*

  8. Funny! It's good to hear about the times when the non-snuggler ventures outside the safe temperature zone. In our house, my hub is perpetually "too hot," threatening to shred the down comforter, etc. Meanwhile, I just want a hug. (:

  9. Same here - though Chris isn't usually thrilled since it typically involves me warming my cold feet on him.
