Mama Say What?

Okay, so when I was saying goodbye to Jake as he got in his carpool (the only boy among a bevy of lovely grade-school ladies) for camp this morning, I may have stuck my head in the car and blown him a big kiss.

And, when he said he didn't want the bagel I was trying to press into his hand, I may have said, dramatically, "But, Sweetie, you'll starve to death!"

Considering this is the summer of push-ups, trying to "get a tan," and artfully arranging his hair, I'm sensing the times they are a-changing.

The kids are due home in 10 minutes. Can't wait to see if I'm in trouble.

  1. too funny!!!!! They grow up long before we're ready..... My 16 year old is kind, ( and poossibly foolish) enough to share facebook space with me....... one day I interrupted him whilst he was, and I quote: "Busting a Move" on some poor girl....

I had to call his sister and get the definition of "Busting A Move".....

Yeah... I couldn't breathe for a week after that one......

Thanks for the laugh, and for letting me know I'm not alone!!!

  3. Welcome to my world. Amongst my worst offenses was a day that I tried to hold my 15 yr old's hand crossing a busy street and blurted out loudly "hold mommy's hand William!"

    Never lived it down.

  5. I can't wait for a follow up post...
but I'm guessing with all those girls in the car, his head was filled with so much other girl noise that yours was buried.

  6. Can't wait to find out if he remembers to chastise you. And man, he is a honey, so I think you're going to have trouble batting back the girls. Push ups. That can't be good.

  9. Oh Anna. I am sure Jake appreciated all of those gestures.

Are you going to show them baby pictures of him with his privates showing tomorrow to the car?

That will REALLY make you his favorite person. EVER!
