I was excited to be able to give a World Vision worker money to provide Nikol with a new pair of boots and possibly a few other things while we were here. Nikol and the worker went shopping and Nikol proudly picked out the pair he wanted. With the extra money, he bought apples, sugar, cooking oil, and coffee for his parents. I bet his mom is going to be super happy about that coffee.
Here are some pictures taken in the World Vision office of a happy boy:
and now? where will these boots go?
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! What a look of pure joy and satisfaction on his face. So happy that you are able to give in this way, Anna.
ReplyDeleteHe's so sweet! (he makes me cry.) E.
ReplyDeleteOh my tears again...you can see the excitement radiating from him in these photos...I just want to reach through the picture and give him a huge hug! Puts things into perspective when you see the items he chose with his extra money - things we take for granted as everyday items are a luxury to his family. Wow! But that smile...so glad you were able to provide him with new boots!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, that last photo brought tears to my eyes. That boy is so proud of his purchases. I buy apples and coffee and think of it as an annoying errand, if it registers at all. He looks like he just bought his mom a new house. Such good work you are doing here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great kid, that he used the change to buy groceries/staples for his mom instead of something else for himself!
ReplyDeleteSo nice you got to see your kindness in the eyes of his happy family.
ReplyDeleteWay to make a real difference Anna!
Love this! I sponsor with World Vision too; I have two children in Albania and one in So. Africa! Very much looking forward to hearing about your trip!
ReplyDeleteI just love him....I can't imagine the emotions running through you right now. So glad you are able to help his family. You are honoring your son by helping them. <3
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see him so happy!
