I am sorry I've been gone for so long. Lack of blogging makes me feel blah, and I can't wait until we can catch up fully. I'd say my lack of writing is akin to when a runner doesn't get a chance to run, but you know I have zero real-world experience in that department so it's pure speculation.
I'm doing 3 relatively short but back-to-back trips, the final one of which starts tomorrow. Lest someone out there on the internet thinks it would be an ideal time to empty our house of all worldly possessions, I'll point out that Tim and our attack labrador will be guarding the house.
While I hadn't planned on going to the BlogHer conference this year, my desire to hug people who have loved on us for the past 11 months is far stronger than my fear that my clothes will look stupid or that I'll cry if anyone says anything nice to me. Or mean to me. Or anything at all.
Sooooo, just checking in to say I miss you.
We are still standing. And laughing. And remembering.
We can feel your prayers.
Can't wait to catch up!
And if you are going to BlogHer, come get that hug.
Not going to Blogher, but sending you a great big virtual hug Anna! Have a wonderful trip. I know you will be feeling the love!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a really fun adventure at BlogHer! So many of my favorites are going, I wish I was!!! I have missed your writing and look forward to "catching up."
ReplyDeleteSo good to "see" you here, Anna. Miss you very much. That BlogHer conference is going to be blessed to the high heavens to have you in their midst. So glad to hear you're going! Soak in the love!
ReplyDeleteHurray! So glad you're doing well. Yes, we were worried. To use my new "Anna-ism" ...just a "teensy bit'. Have a great time at the conference. Prayers are just getting started. :)

Anna... Prayers continue, whether you post or not. (though we love when you post... It feels like visiting with a friend.). Have a blessed trip... We'll "chat" later.
ReplyDeleteSending love, hugs, and more prayers to you, Tim, and Margaret, from the other side of town...
I am not going to BlogHer, so I think it's time you come to Aurora, IL.
ReplyDeleteVirtual hugs!! XXXX
ReplyDeleteGood to "see" you. Praying for us as everyone begins to prepare for back to school. Breaks my heart for you all over again to even think about it. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo proud.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you checked in........it felt like my favorite neighbor was gone for too long.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your big time trip and don't worry about your clothes. I was on an interview today and noticed that the bottom of my skirt looked like it was dipped in a cup of coffee. I think they may have liked my, though. Like Sally Field really liked me. Or felt sorry for me. Sometimes I get those two things mixed up.
My hug will have to be a virtual one, I hope you have a great time!
ReplyDeleteWish I could hug you back in person, Anna! Not going to BlogHer (sigh!) but am sending you a HUGE virtual hug, anyway. You'll be among a lot of my favorites who will be there - you, of course, being on the top of that list.
ReplyDeleteRevel in all that love. You so deserve it!
So glad you guys are still standing, laughing and remembering. Jack, I'm sure is looking down and is so proud.
Enjoy, Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteSo wish I was going, in only to hug you, but I'm afraid I'm not, this year. xoxo
ReplyDelete(attack labrador! Hahahaha!)
Glad to hear that you are still standing. I get quiet when I am sad or depressed, but writing always makes me feel better so its an odd conundrum at times.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear that you are going to do this interesting, fulfilling thing for yourself. Have a wonderful, huggy time.
ReplyDeletelove,
jbhat
If a brunette lady with great shoes on (Cristie) hugs you, that one's from me. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you need to escape, La Bonne Soupe a couple blocks up is a great hideout with excellent chocolate mousse.
So wishing I could be there to meet you in real life but I look forward to the post when you return.
Have yourself a blast in NYC. And more hugs than your nametag can handle.
xoxoxo
I have missed you and your words. I wish you all the best at the Blogher. Virtual hugs from all of us that cannot be there but will be holding you up in prayer. Stay strong my friend. God bless you and grant you peace.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was going, Anna! I hope you have a great time! Best,
ReplyDeleteCat
I am beyond disappointed that I'm nt at BlogHer this year and missing a hug fom you is one of the biggest reasons. I will be thinking of you this weekend and I can't wait to read about all of your adventures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for updating your blog, I have been checking it ONLY about 100 times a day and wondering when I was going to get my read on!
ReplyDeleteI can attest about the NOT running thing, I get that one!!!! its what keeps me sane!!! I have had some health issues as of late and havent gotten to run in about a week and its driving me nuts. I hope to get one in soon!
I wont at the blogher but sending you a hug anyway!!!!!
Luv2run
Anna, I'm one of your silent blog fans. There's probably not a day that goes by where I don't think of you and Jack. And when I see a bird...(yes, there's lots of birds, so I think of Jack quite frequently). Some days I deliberately don't check your blog because 1) crying at work isn't cool and 2) I simply can't think about your pain & anguish. But most days, I'm drawn to find out how you're doing, to think about the important things in life, to feel. When I can't bear another whinny complaint, tantrum, "no", or "mommy, mommy, mommy...." from my 5-year old son, I think of you and Jack. Your blog invokes such strong feelings, emotions, questions, and importantly - hope. Sometimes I just want to feel nothing, to be numb. There's so much sorrow in the world. But then...something in conscious (or mabye subconscious) says "check out Anna's blog today". Anna, you are making a difference. Just wanted you to know that.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time. I am hugging you from the west coast.
ReplyDeleteI've never commented before but have been reading since just before jack's passing. It may just be me, but every time I see previews for the odd life of timothy green I can't help but think they look alike. Wonder if you see the resemblance.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got that hug. You are a beautiful person. I'm so glad you came.
ReplyDeleteAnna - I've just revisited your blog after a long time and wish I had time to read more of the posts. It really amazes me how you can continue to write so poignantly and succinctly about your life, with the tragedy combined with the everyday - you still make such beautiful observations about life and I leave it with every time with a promise to appreciate life more every day. There will be an end for all of us. You are one of the best blog writers out there and deserve all the rewards you receive. You humble me with your abilities and talent.
ReplyDeleteHugging you(more than once even - so lucky, lucky me) was so incredible this weekend. I so loved meeting you. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd met you. BlogHer was incredibly overwhelming (my first time goin). You are one of the few people for whom I am genuinely remorseful over having not met. I hope you had a wonderful time, though. And I hope you were hugged on and loved and lifted up.
