In honor of Jack's upcoming 13th birthday, we are asking Jack's friends to consider contributing $13 to Jack's favorite charity, Samaritan's Purse.
If you would like to make a contribution of any size, here is the link:

With thanks and love!
Absolutely!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, heartfelt, way to honor Jack and help so many other children.....I'm sure that Jack approves and is very proud of his Mum!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. It is a tremendous honor to run for Jack. These donations will bless people all over the world. I think Jack would like that.
ReplyDeleteWith Love and Aloha from The Sheveland family on Maui. We are proud to donate!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, we will give for Jack, and for you. I hope you were able to find some bit of happiness and make some new memories in Leesburg that will help you through the hard days ahead.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Julie
Great idea!
ReplyDeleteOh Anna, I can't even imagine how hard this is going to be for you. I've donated, my family have donated, and I'll gladly share the link.
ReplyDeleteHugs, prayers, and love. xoxo
oh Anna, my heart breaks for you. We will give to honor his birthday!
ReplyDeleteWarm Hugs from Richmond. Mia xoxo
Such a small thing to do...thank you for asking.
ReplyDeleteIn my thoughts and prayers :)
Most definitely...it's the least I can do...
ReplyDeleteOh Anna. How special your jack was. It hit me as I was reading this "how many 12 year old boys do you know that have a favorite charity?" happy to contribute in honor of such a sweet boy.
ReplyDeleteI love Jack's jokes, I love that Jack, if this makes sense, looks like Jack from the time he was a baby. Such a handsome, beautiful boy you have! What I can, I will do.
ReplyDeleteSuch a privilege. Thank you for sharing this opportunity to honor Jack's 13th birthday. Sending prayers and love...
ReplyDeleteDone. Thank you for the opportunity to give!
ReplyDeleteOh Anna. I can only wrap you in love and hugs. When Bitchy celebrated her 22nd, I looked at my sister and weeped.
ReplyDeleteAnd I still do.
What a great idea. This is certainly going to be a hard birthday for you to bear- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks for the GREAT idea!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't think of a better way to honor Jack's smiling face!
ReplyDeleteWe will definitely honor Jack's birthday with a donation. Jack will continue to be a blessing to others. What a beautiful gift! Love and prayers.
ReplyDeleteOne of the MANY ways Jack is changing the world! Honored to give. Prayers for you.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Surrounding you with love all of March!
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am. Immediately, without passing "go" or collecting $200. Though if I did collect cash for passing "go", it would be sent directly to Samaritan's Purse also.
ReplyDeleteI'm imploring Little Bo Peep to usher that sheep into the month of March as early as possible. With the mood I'm in today, I think I can scare off that Lion fairly quickly on my own.
xoxo, michelle
It's a privilege to honor Jack in this way. Much love to you as you face this seemingly impossible day. Wish I could give you a big hug (my autocorrect tried to change that to hog which made me laugh really hard. If a hog would help I'd give you one of those, too.)
ReplyDeleteAnna, we chose Clean Water Projects because of your family's enthusiastic drive to provide a well last year. But for the next donation in his name, feel free to let us know if there is another aspect of the Charity he'd love to see grow.
ReplyDeleteWhat Geri said is so true. How many 12 year olds have a favorite charity?
I'm so sorry you're facing this gut wrenching time. I hate it. Praying hard for you all, Anna.
What a great way of honoring Jack. have a good day, make him a cake. Mary
ReplyDeleteDone. And thank YOU for giving us this lovely opportunity to help.
ReplyDeletelove,
jbhat
I can only imagine how difficult the upcoming days will be. Thank you for the opportunity to honor Jack's memory. Hugs & prayers, as always...
ReplyDeleteOk.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures of Jack are so precious. I just love him in the little chair with the hat on his head. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteOh Jack is sooooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely want to support your family and this wonderful organization ministering to many, many the world over with the love of Jesus! Jack is with jesus cheering them on!
ReplyDeleteI never comment on blogs. I think of you everyday, I wish I could bring that day back and with it your beautiful son. You are always in my prayers and I would be honored to donate to your son's favorite charity. I know in my head and in my heart that he smiles down upon you everyday and offers you small distractions to get you through these tough days. What an amayzing mother you are.

I'm going to do it tomorrow when Mooch is up so she can help pick an area and be a part of this. We'll do it every year... all our love.
ReplyDeleteDropping by to let you know that I am praying for you over here. We are looking forward to our 5K/Fun Run on Saturday in honor of Jack. Our hearts will be heavy but our spirits will be lifted. I hope you take some kind of comfort in all the good Jack is doing in this crazy world we live in. Praying hard. Big hugs of comfort for you today from me.
ReplyDeleteyou will be ok on lovely Jack's birthday. after all, his verse is “Nothing is Impossible with God.” Luke 1:37 and where better to spend his "1:3"th birthday than in the luckiest place in the universe. luck will always follow him like a simple lucky 7 sitting next to the 13.
ReplyDeleteFinally did it, and did so in the classroom. No one seemed to notice.
ReplyDeletei love this idea! what a wonderful way to feel like you can help and remember Jack's birthday in such a positive way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the privilege, and for the blessing your writing is. Praying for you over this weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteCindy
What a great idea! Such a great honor and think of all the help to others that need it!
ReplyDeleteOur family did a 5k/Fun Run this morning and we all wore blue ribbons to honor Jack. So many people knew the ribbons were for Jack without even asking. It made me SO happy (and SO sad at the same time). There are tons of people out here praying for you guys. It was an honor to represent Jack today. Stay strong.
ReplyDeletePS thank you Jack for getting me off my ass and making me do something no one has ever made me do -- run a race (and I liked it)
A wonderful tribute for your lovely boy. Holding you and your family in my thoughts all the time dear Anna!
ReplyDeletePipxx
I'm always thinking of you and praying for you and your family especially as this difficult day approaches. Remember that this was always a happy celebratory day.
ReplyDeleteDear Anna,
ReplyDeleteI was happy to contribute to Jack's 13th! It's a big milestone birthday, and although it's NOTHING like you would ever have imagined and is heart-wrenching, to butcher a Shakespeare quote, there's special providence in the fall of a sparrow. I hope I'm not misquoting, I always think of the line to mean that God has some sort of plan. Regardless, I'm happy to donate to Jack's favorite fund, and please don't hesitate to ever ask for donations. It feels good to do something.
I was thinking of you recently—a friend of mine's daughter passed away from cancer (and please know I don't think of you only when tragedy strikes, but your family is often on my mind) Her daughter was 21, and had been struggling for awhile. This mom has a blog and is at the very beginning of her grief journey. I'm not sure if you want to read blogs of others in similar situations, or want to stay far away, but in any case, here is the link, with of course, no pressure to read if you don't want:

ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificently awesome son you have. Even though he now lives far instead of near, his abundant personality stays and blesses through you. My heart is heavy for I know loss. You are doing fine.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and let you know that you are all being thought of, and prayed for. xxxx
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!! I saw $14K raised for Jack's Lanterns already! :) woo hoo
ReplyDeleteWhen is Jack's bday?
Just stopping by again to let you know I'm praying for you. Each of you. Every little thing makes me think of you and ask God to help you with each step, each season, each and every little thing.
ReplyDeleteWould be a good training i supposed.
